Terms of Service
The short version. Branch shows you information about money you already hold. It is not a bank, not a broker, and not a financial adviser — it cannot move your money and it does not tell you what to do with it. Subscriptions are billed by Apple. You can cancel or delete your account whenever you like.
These terms are an agreement between you and Runloop d.o.o., a limited liability company registered in Croatia, trading as Branch ("Branch", "we", "us"). They cover the Branch iPhone app and this website (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you accept them. If you do not, please don't use Branch.
1. What Branch is
Branch is a personal finance tracking tool. It aggregates read-only information about accounts and assets you own, presents that information, and produces illustrative projections.
Branch is not:
- a bank, credit institution, or e-money issuer;
- a broker, dealer, exchange, or custodian of any asset;
- a financial, investment, tax or legal adviser.
Branch never takes possession of your money or assets and cannot initiate payments, trades or transfers.
2. Not financial advice
Everything in the Service — including net worth figures, goal projections, scenarios and anything the in-app assistant tells you — is for information only. It is not a personal recommendation to buy, sell or hold any asset.
Projections are illustrations, not predictions. They assume rates of return that may not happen. Investments can fall as well as rise, past performance does not indicate future results, and crypto and precious metals are volatile and may lose value entirely. Decisions you take are yours. Consider taking professional advice.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract.
- You are responsible for keeping access to your device and sign-in method secure.
- You must give accurate information and keep it current.
- One account per person. Don't share your account with others; use family sharing instead.
4. Connecting accounts
Linking a bank or brokerage authorises us, through our provider Plaid, to retrieve read-only information from that institution on your behalf. You confirm you are the account holder or otherwise permitted to connect it.
Institution data is provided as-is by the institution and its aggregator. It can be delayed, incomplete or wrong, and connections can break when an institution changes its systems. Branch is not responsible for the accuracy of data it receives — always treat your institution's own records as authoritative.
5. Manually entered data
You are responsible for the accuracy of anything you enter yourself, including balances, transactions, holdings and prices paid. Branch calculates from what you give it.
6. Prices and third-party data
Crypto and precious metal prices come from third-party providers and are indicative only. They may be delayed or inaccurate and should not be relied on for trading. Branch does not guarantee availability or accuracy of any market data.
7. Subscriptions and billing
- Branch is a paid subscription, offered monthly or yearly, with a free trial for new subscribers.
- Payment is taken by Apple through your Apple Account. We never see your payment details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- Cancel any time in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not refund the current period.
- Unused trial time is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies. We cannot issue them directly.
- We may change prices; existing subscribers will be told in advance and can cancel before the change applies.
Deleting your Branch account does not cancel your Apple subscription. Cancel it separately in your Apple Account settings.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract our source code;
- access the Service by automated means, or scrape it;
- attempt to breach security, probe for vulnerabilities, or disrupt the Service;
- connect accounts you are not entitled to access;
- use Branch unlawfully or to launder money.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, its design, code and the Branch name and marks belong to us. You get a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app. Your financial data stays yours — you grant us only the licence needed to operate the Service for you.
10. Availability
We aim to keep Branch running but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend or discontinue features, and we depend on third parties — including Plaid, Apple and our hosting providers — whose outages can affect the Service.
11. Ending the agreement
You may stop using Branch and delete your account at any time from Profile → My Account → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, or where required by law.
12. Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for lost profits, or for investment losses arising from decisions you make while using Branch. Our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep all statutory rights — in the UK, including those under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified in the app before taking effect. Continuing to use Branch afterwards means you accept them.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
